Josh Anderson is the founder and CEO of Telephony Partners. His experience in telecommunications began with CDSI, a company that develops hardware and software to bring unique functionality to high-end IP- and software-based PBX clients. CDSI exposed Mr. Anderson to the telecommunications indirect sales channel and he became convinced that a rigorously ethical master agent guided by engineering expertise and a focus on agent support could grow to be best of class. He subsequently founded Telephony Partners in 2002 and the company continues to be guided by the principles Mr. Anderson envisioned, garnering praise from agents and carriers alike for integrity and vision. Leveraging engineering and software expertise, the company has grown rapidly and continues to develop relationships with VARs, telecommunication professionals, and leading carriers.
Moz Aslam is one of the ground-floor members of COLOTRAQ, managing the most active marketplace for telecom and IT services. He also heads up COLOTRAQ’s consulting practice. To date, he has worked on over 1000 data center transactions and spearheaded the development of the COLOTRAQ.com marketplace. He has been published/quoted in various industry publications and has presented at various industry trade shows and conferences. He holds a degree in MIS from Rutgers University and a degree in the management of technology co-sponsored by the University of Pennsylvania and Wharton School of Business.
Laura Bernstein is the president and co-founder of CRA Inc., a Massachusetts-based national network telecom management company formed in 1999 to provide SMBs with proactive monthly auditing, network change facilitation and contract negotiations. The company, which supports data, voice and cellular services, was recently elected Small Business of the Year and has been featured on the cover of PHONE+ and highlighted on the cover of Business West. A member of the telecommunications industry for more than 30 years, Ms.Bernstein is a graduate of Springfield College.
Dany Bouchedid is the CEO of Interaqt Corporation (dba COLOTRAQ). He founded the company in 1999 with a vision of creating the premier sourcing management consulting firm for telecom and IT services. Today, COLOTRAQ is the largest global sourcing management firm of its kind bringing buyers and sellers together in over 1,300 markets across 221 countries and territories. Mr. Bouchedid currently serves as president of the board of trustees of the newly formed Technology Channel Association (TCA), the indirect channel industry’s first trade association. He has taught a number of senior-level undergraduate business school courses including strategic management, patterns of entrepreneurship and e-commerce. Mr. Bouchedid has been published/quoted in various industry publications including PHONE+ magazine, HostingTech and eWeek (formerly PC Week) magazine. He has also been a guest speaker at various industry trade shows and conferences. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and management from Montclair State University and a Master of Business Administration degree in finance and international business from New York University's Stern School of Business.
As vice president of converged technology at Consolidated Technologies, Inc. (CTI), a converged communications solution provider and VoIP Carrier, Neil Brenner is responsible for managing CTI’s Clearpath MVP (managed voice plus) hosted and business trunking products.. He is also responsible for the sales engineering and design division. Before joining CTI, Neil was vice president of sales engineering at Eureka Broadband, a CLEC. He came to Eureka from IT Partners, a New York-based systems integrator, where he served as president. Neil holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Brooklyn College and a doctorate in experimental psychology from the City University of New York (CUNY).
Ben Bronston is a nationally recognized expert in the field of telecommunications law and regulation. Over the past 16 years he has developed an extensive knowledge of legal and regulatory issues affecting a wide variety of telecommunications companies, including carriers, resellers, agents, master agents and support services providers. He has provided advice and counsel to many of the most highly regarded companies in the industry and has served as corporate and/or regulatory counsel in numerous transactions with an aggregate value of several billion dollars. Mr. Bronston has served as a director for several telecommunications companies including, most recently, Benchmark Communications LLC, a provider of satellite television, high-speed Internet and telephone services to apartment complexes in the Gulf South. He is also a co-founder of Seruus Telecom Fund LP, a private venture capital fund dedicated exclusively to the communications industry which invested in several companies, including iBASIS and Nuvox. Mr. Bronston is a summa cum laude graduate of Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business and Tulane Law School.
Scott Bush is president of Bredison & Associates, an international sales and sales management training company. He has provided sales and sales management training to thousands of professionals worldwide, been featured in numerous magazine articles and is a frequent contributor to a variety of publications. Scott authored the popular American Management Association (AMA) course “Coaching Your Sales Team,” has completed a CD series on selling and is finishing a book on sales. A graduate of California State University, Pomona, Scott has more than 10 years experience in the telecommunications industry, holding key management positions with several prominent companies.
David Byrd is responsible for the Broadvox marketing and channel sales programs to SMBs, enterprises and carriers as well as defining the product offering. Prior to joining Broadvox, David was the Vice President of Channels and Alliances for Eftia and Telcordia. As Director of eBusiness Development with i2 Technologies, he developed major partnerships with many of the leaders in Internet eCommerce and supply chain management. As CEO of Planet Hollywood Online he was a pioneer in using early internet technologies to build a branded entertainment and eCommerce website company partnered with Planet Hollywood. Having over twenty years of Telecom sales and marketing experience, he has held executive positions with Hewlett-Packard, Sprint and Ericsson.
Scott Charter is the co-founder and managing partner of WBS Connect. Charter is responsible for the management of WBS Connect’s carrier relations and global network expansion. He has more than 14 years of data telecommunications experience, specializing in data networking. Prior to launching WBS Connect, Charter held management positions with Qwest Communications, Rhythms Netconnections, and Echostar Communications. Charter studied at the University of Costa Rica College of Law, and at the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Charter has a degree from the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Old Dominion University.
A graduate of Yale Law School, Mark Del Bianco has had his own legal practice since 2003, dealing with regulatory, transactional and litigation projects for domestic and international carriers, agents and business customers. His clients include agents, CLECs, broadband networks, VoIP providers, satellite resellers and enterprise customers. He also teaches at The Catholic University of America’s law school. Mark began his legal career in the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. Prior to opening his practice, he spent more than a decade in the communications group at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in Washington, D.C.
Adam Edwards is a co-founder of Telarus Inc. and currently serves as its president. Prior to co-founding Telarus in 2002, Mr. Edwards was vice president of finance for Quest Manufacturing, Inc., where he led the acquisition of a new operating unit in 2001 and helped structure the unit for financing in 2002. From 1999 through 2001, he served as vice president of finance for Silicon Film Technologies, Inc. In this role, he prepared the company for its successful financing in 2000 during which the company raised $6 million. Mr. Edwards has a background in public accounting and worked as an auditor at KPMG LLP. His experience there ranged from auditing small private companies to working on SEC filings for large international and public companies. He was also involved in the Korean Practice and the Structured Finance divisions. Mr. Edwards holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Brigham Young University and is a certified public accountant.
Neil Ende, an A/V-rated attorney with the Technology Law Group, is a nationally recognized expert on telecommunications transactional, litigation and regulatory issues. He has served as counsel to many of the nation's largest telecommunications resellers and agents, payphone service providers, and numerous other companies involved in leading edge technology applications. Mr. Ende has negotiated hundreds of carrier and agency agreements, including agreements with major telecommunications carriers, and has successfully litigated complex telecommunications cases against each of the major long distance carriers and most of the Regional Bell Operating Companies.
Michael Fair is founder and president of MarketRace. Prior to founding MarketRace, Fair was regional vice president of strategic partners for Qwest Communications International Inc.’s Business Partner Program. There, he managed a team responsible for deal-structuring and executive relationships with Qwest’s strategic partners including Cisco, IBM, Perot Systems, Sun Microsystems and EMC. Fair joined Qwest in 1997 as director of marketing and started the Qwest Business Partner Program later that same year.
Steven Gerhardt is founder and president of D&M Enterprise Group, a network services agency headquartered in Holmdel, N.J. He and his staff use a consultative approach to provide voice, data and Internet services to their predominantly business clients. A 15-year veteran of the telecom industry, Gerhardt graduated from the University of Pittsburg and was a sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving in Operation Desert Storm.
Joe Gomez currently serves as the chief information officer of W. Lange and Company, Inc. In this role he provides concept development, network design and implementation support to Internet, IP-VPN, VoIP, MPLS and Web hosting customers. As a master agent, W. Lange and Company provides industry expertise in support of sub-agents and customers ranging from small single-site locations to large multi-site international networks. This expertise includes working with carriers to provide network redundancy to ensure near-100 percent uptime for their clients. Joe came to WLC in 1998 from Cable & Wireless USA where he served as a senior lead engineer.
Khali Henderson is the group editor for the Telecom Division at Virgo Publishing, which includes PHONE+, xchange and New Telephony magazines. Henderson has covered the telecommunications industry as a reporter and editor since 1988. She has held her present post since fall 2002. She also serves as editor in chief of PHONE+, the premier publication covering indirect distribution channels for communications services and equipment.
As chief strategy officer for Perimeter eSecurity, Doug Howard is responsible for the company’s mergers and acquisition and service strategy. Before joining Perimeter, he was COO of BT Counterpane where he led a team responsible for the development, implementation, operations and marketing of the company’s product and service line. He also served as vice president of Security and Business Continuity for AT&T Corp. In this capacity, he formed an organization that developed and launched new security services for each of the company's business lines of service. Doug started his career in the U.S. Air Force, working under the direct command of the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon.
Doug Kanner currently serves as president of RFM Consulting Group, providing infrastructure design and build-out, WAN design and implementation, connectivity consulting and communications management. Target clients have multiple locations with a WAN for voice and data or new facilities requirements. Doug specializes in the highly competitive retail clothing and food service markets where the demand for low-cost, secure multi-sites networks is increasing. The infrastructure design and build-out projects for his clients typically evolve from project management clients to monthly retainer clients who utilize all the telecommunications services that RFM Consulting Group offers.
Mark Landiak is president of Corporate Dynamics Incorporated, a Chicago-based training and consulting firm that specializes in helping wireless carriers, master agents, dealers and manufacturers to grow sales, keep customers and more profitably manage their operations. He is a frequent speaker at industry events and contributor to magazines on sales, management and wireless technologies. Mr. Landiak heads up the newly formed Wireless Business Owners Consortium, a trade organization aimed at providing wireless dealers with access to the products, services and strategies to help them increase sales and operate more efficiently and profitability. A graduate of Penn State University, Mr. Landiak lives with his wife and four children in Naperville, Ill.
William Leutzinger earned a Bachelor of Science degree in telecommunications from Ball State University in 1990 and a Master of Science degree in information communication sciences in 1991. After graduation, he worked in sales and sales management for communications companies, then owned and operated two telecommunications recruiting businesses, CareerCom and GreatNewJob.com. In the early 2000s, Mr. Leutzinger spent two years in major account management for SBC, then left to start WRL Communications. In 2007, he co-founded TelecomMedic, an Internet-based agency that provides online quotes and trouble tickets for three different telecommunications companies. Mr. Leutzinger is also a part-time instructor in the telecommunications graduate program at DePaul University.
Randy Marshall was one of the founders of OMNI Solutions and has been its president since its inception in 1994, during which time OMNI Solutions has become a premier nationwide master agency. He has over 18 years experience in the communications industry and has an excellent track record in identifying and expanding OMNI's product base. Prior to OMNI, Randy Marshall founded DOMATION, Inc., a patented building process which became an Inc. 500 company and for which he won numerous awards. A civil engineering graduate of Georgia Tech, Randy once spent an entire year walking the full length of the Appalachian Trail, from Georgia to Maine.
As Endeavor Telecom’s CEO, Justin McLain is responsible for overseeing operations and investor relations activities, focusing on the development of new service products and strategic relationships to assure the company’s continued growth and success. He is also involved in managing Endeavor’s relationships with its private equity investors and largest customers. He serves on the board and is a principal investor in the private equity group which owns 68 percent of Endeavor’s stock. Justin holds dual bachelor’s degrees from the College of Charleston, in business administration and biology. He was also an Asian Scholar, focusing on the Mandarin Chinese and Japanese languages.
Michael McLelan is the senior vice president of business markets at PowerNet Global Communications. In this position he oversees the SMB sales function and the independent sales channel for the PowerNet Global legacy LD and VoIP programs. As a member of the PowerNet Global leadership team, he assists in preparing and forecasting budget expenditures and sales initiatives and represents the company at telecommunications association conferences and events. Mr. McLelan’s more than 20 years experience in the telecommunications includes positions with He has been involved in the telecommunications industry for more than 20 years, working for such companies as Phone USA and AmeriVox Telecommunications. He also served for four years as chairman of the Telecommunications Resellers Association (TRA – now Comptel) Pre-Paid Services Council.
Ken Presti is the president of Presti Research & Consulting, Inc. Presti specializes in services related to the development and refinement of go-to-market strategies and related programs for technology vendors and service providers. His focus of program elements includes channel partner recruitment, compensation plans, training, lead generation, online offerings, marketing and communications, service and support and channel conflict. Offerings include strategy development sessions, survey development and execution, focus groups, third-party white papers, live/Web presentations, speeches, podcasts and channel council management. Ken has extensive experience in market research, marketing/channel marketing, and journalism. During the summer of 2006, he embarked on a new business venture, launching Presti Research and Consulting Inc.
Cara Sievers is associate editor for the telecom division at Virgo Publishing, where she served in the managing editor capacity for xchange, New Telephony, Wireless Fidelity and PHONE+ magazines from September 2003 to May 2007. She now writes almost exclusively for PHONE+, covering indirect channel news and other topics such as TEM, PRM, SaaS, conferencing, VoIP and security. Before coming to Virgo, Sievers served in various marketing and advertising capacities for corporations, nonprofits and agency clients, and currently serves as a freelance writer for home and garden magazines. Sievers has a B.S. in communications and public relations from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and an M.A. in communications and journalism from Auburn University.
Bill Taylor, president of Corporate Ladders, is a pioneering technology executive, industry consultant and advisor to CEOs. His experience as director of national accounts for AT&T Wireless as well as high-level executive positions with IBM, Prodigy Internet and Election Inc., has provided him with a broad, knowledge-based approach to the technology and telecommunications industries. His success as an IT marketing and channel development strategist has enabled him to develop an extensive client list that includes BroadSoft, InfoHighway, Eureka Networks and Mellon Bank.
Brett Theiss is director of product management and channel programs for New Edge Networks. He oversees development, pricing, and management of all products and services. He also leads New Edge Networks channel program. Prior to joining New Edge, Brett was the director of product management for AT&T. He has also held product and marketing leadership positions with SBC, Qwest and MCI WorldCom.
Roger Thomas leads TeleComp’s overall business strategy. He owned and operated his own telecommunications company, TeleCompNET, from 1994 until 2003, when he and business partner Gino Capito purchased Dixieland Computers, which they renamed TeleComp. Mr. Thomas is responsible for the administration and telecommunications sides of TeleComp. Under his direction, TeleComp’s sales and service terms has won the national Circle of Excellence award as an AT&T Solution Provider for the last three years in a row. Mr. Thomas currently serves as a board member of the AT&T Southwest Alliance Channel board of advisors representing AT&T Solution Providers in the southwest United States, the original Southwestern Bell territory.
Katherine Trost is a research analyst with Nemertes Research, focusing primarily on professional services. She develops and manages research projects, conducts strategic seminars and advises enterprises, vendors and service providers. Katherine’s primary area of expertise includes hosted, managed and professional IT services, as well as channel strategies. The author of numerous reports and articles on these areas, she is a frequent resource for the business and trade press. Prior to joining Nemertes, Katherine spent 18 years in engineering-related positions, including network connectivity, mechanical and electrical design, and test and quality assurance.
Chuck Wilcox is the assistant general counsel, VP for litigation, employment and ethics for XO Communications. He has more than 30 years’ legal experience and has been working for XO since 2000. Wilcox has extensive civil litigation and first chair trial experience. He is also a retired Air Force colonel.
